Ozark sits southeast of Springfield, roughly 14 miles out, and is the Christian County seat with a population over 21,000. Like Nixa, Ozark runs its own city building department rather than permitting through the county, and it's adopted the 2018 ICC Building Codes with the 2017 National Electric Code, a newer code cycle than the 2012 codes Greene County uses just up the road.
